Veebuka
Veebukka came to us from a neighbouring state, where a kind foreigner once fed her daily. But when they moved away, she was left without anyone to care for her. With a leg injury that needed urgent attention and threats of being chased away from the only home she knew, Veebukka had nowhere to turn.
Today, she is safe with us, but she still needs care and support to heal fully and feel secure again. Would you like to be Veebu’s Guardian Angel and stand by her on this journey?
Roofy
We received a call about a street dog suffering from severe mange, his body fragile and his spirit on edge. Catching him was no easy task—Roofy lashed out, terrified and in pain, but with patience and care we were finally able to bring him safely into our shelter.
Since then, he has been under treatment, slowly healing one day at a time. His skin is beginning to mend, and with gentle care, he’s slowly learning that he’s safe. But the road ahead is still long, and his journey back to full health will need time, love, and continued support.
Would you like to be Roofy’s Guardian Angel and help him find his way back to health and happiness?
Jimmy
He was no longer wanted by his family. Left behind and tied up at their old house, he survived in isolation… visited only twice a day so someone could drop off food. No walks, no affection, no comfort. Just a chain and silence.
When we found him, he was malnourished, withdrawn, and visibly neglected. We couldn’t leave him there. He’s now safe at the shelter, slowly beginning to trust again, one gentle step at a time.
Kerputti
We received a call about a hit-and-run incident on the nearby main road, where we found Kerpatti crumpled and bleeding, unable to walk. Suspecting fractures, we carefully placed her on a board and transported her to the veterinary college. Amid her fear and growls of pain, we saw a pair of curious, gentle eyes gazing at us. Suffering from a fractured shin, ugly wounds, and, as we found out later, tick fever and severe anaemia, she required extensive care and surgery. Survivor Kerpatti remains under constant supervision by our team. Will you be the Guardian Angel to help this young dog walk again?
Vellachi
On a cold and rainy morning, she was found lying on a cement driveway, trembling and unable to stand. When we gently helped her up, she stumbled on her hind legs and collapsed again. She was immediately rushed to the nearest veterinary hospital, where she received the urgent care she needed.
She still has her journey ahead of her but with a little extra love and care, we believe she’ll be alright 💕
Would you like to be Vellachi’s Guardian Angel and walk this journey with her?
Plumby
Plumby was brought to a veterinary hospital by kind people who found her lying injured on the road after a severe accident. She had a double fracture, two deep wounds on her hind legs, and was left shivering and covered in blood. They couldn’t care for her beyond that, so she came into our hands.
Since then, we’ve been nursing her back to life, one gentle step at a time. Behind all the pain, she’s already showing her resilience — and the playful, mischievous puppy she truly is. Plumby will need extensive rehabilitation and surgery to fully recover.
Peethu
Peethu was just a few weeks old when someone dumped her on the road nearby in the pouring rain. Searching for food, she was nearly driven over by a car, after which a bystander simply threw her over the fence of one of our team members. From a trembling, malnourished, flea-infested little thing, she quickly grew into the naughtiest puppy in our shelter, snatching our team members' shoes, playfighting with Bubu and Veebukka all day, and annoying our senior dogs by sleeping on top of them. To keep this little angel in good health, Peethu needs a Guardian to support her.
Tafari
He was filthy, his fur all covered in dreadlocks, starving, afraid, sitting on the side of the road. An empty cardboard box which he had probably been abandoned, lay next to him. He was likely a caged dog his whole life, confined to sit and sleep in his own excrements until his neglectful owners had enough of his pitiful state and dropped him off on the side of the road.
We took him in, naming him Tafari and with extensive food bribes we slowly gained his trust. One by one the dreads blinding his vision were cut but as we removed them we noticed he had milky white circles in his eyes and was often not seeing the treats we were tossing his way. Tafari had cataracts and was partially blind. He also had inflammation and a general skin infection.
Today, the skin issues are mostly gone while his partial blindness remains since doctors say that he is too old to treat. This doesn’t stop him from jumping around and greeting us warmly while keeping on the look out for more kibbles, cuddles and company. As Tafari’s Guardian Angel, you can help us provide just that!
Vethu
Vethu, around four years old, was found lying quietly at the side of a street – fragile and worn by years of hardship. Her tongue hung out in the heat, her eyes dulled by exhaustion – yet there was a silent plea for help we couldn’t turn away from. Severely malnourished, Vethu was soon diagnosed with kidney failure and tick fever after an emergency trip to a distant laboratory.
We almost lost her. She went through many injections and medications to help her recover – one gentle day at a time.
Today, Veetu is slowly regaining strength, receiving regular medication, and enjoying the comfort of her fluffy pillow.
Will you be her Guardian Angel and help her heal – so she can finally enjoy the happy years she truly deserves?
Tipu
Confined to a cage, giant Rottweiler Tippu was withering away, having already lost his sister to illness. Weak, malnourished, and battling infection, he was feared and aggressive, never walked or loved. His owners, overwhelmed by his size, couldn't provide proper care. We found a gentle soul beneath the fear, a giant misunderstood. We offered medical aid, slowly gained his trust and took him under our wings. Now, Tippu’s evenings are filled with joyful anticipation for his wild, adventurous walks. This once-caged dog now embraces freedom with unstoppable energy and a heart full of love. Be Tippu's Guardian Angel and support his continued transformation.
Mon
Mon came to us a month ago, happily following one of us home during a walk. Although he was wearing a collar, we couldn’t find any trace of his owner, and none of the locals recognised him. He was malnourished and hungry – clear indicators that he was abandoned. He sat outside the gate and didn’t budge until he was allowed inside, as if he knew he was meant to be here and would wait patiently until these humans complied. From the moment we welcomed him in, Mon showed his sweet nature – gentle with the other dogs, friendly with the cats, and happy to have found his new pack. With your Guardian Angel support, we can continue to give him the care and love he deserves.
Appoopan
After 10 long years on the street, this old champ made it to our shelter. He is battered and bruised from more than one accident, years of eating scraps and sugary biscuits, and living next to a dusty road his entire life. Partially deaf, slow to react, and limping around the speeding traffic, we decided it was time for a quiet retirement for this street survivor. Appoopan, our grandpa dog, is finally sheltered and safe, but his journey to healing has just begun. Become his guardian angel and help us provide him with the retirement plan of his dreams.
Karimbi
Karimbi, a black mama dog with soulful eyes, stayed behind at the busy junction, after her only friend was taken away. She cried into the night, longing for his return. She cried at night, looking for Teddy; her only friend, who never came back. When we returned for her, she didn’t resist—just climbed into the car with a tired sigh, her heart clearly broken. Now reunited with Teddy and safe in our care, Karimbi, though still a little shy, needs your Guardian Angel support to fully heal and embrace her new beginning. Would you be theirs?
Teddy
At the main village junction, we spotted Teddy, an affectionate brown dog with a bright grin and a tail that wagged at every passerby. He cheekily snuck after everyone, hoping they might have some idlis or puri in their pocket. But during Wayanad’s long and infamous monsoon, he spent his days huddled away, hungry, and forgotten. We just couldn't leave him there. As we passed by to finally fetch him, he leapt into the car without hesitation, as if he knew he was finally safe.
At the shelter, Teddy quickly became everyone’s favourite. Always the first to greet visitors, this cuddle bear brought instant joy. Now safe and loved, Teddy needs your Guardian Angel support to continue thriving in his new life.
Rama
While traveling on the other side of South India, we stumbled upon little Rama—an abandoned puppy suffering from the deadly Canine Parvo Virus. He was incredibly weak and dehydrated, looking up at us with sad, pleading eyes. We took him to a local clinic and immediately started his 5-day treatment—IV fluids, antibiotics, and supportive care.
Too sick to eat or drink, he battled through vomiting and bloody diarrhea, but after days of rest, he finally managed his first few mouthfuls of food. When he had regained some strength, we gave him a warm bath, and he happily soaked up the sunshine. As the days went by, he started eating with more vigour, and seemingly overnight transformed into the happy, playful puppy that he is today!
We extended our trip to help him recover before making the 12-hour journey home. Rama handled it like a champ, spending most of it fast asleep or watching the world go by from the back windscreen.
Now, Rama is safe and loved at Paws in Wayanad, but he still needs a Guardian Angel to support his care. Will you help?
Puncha Devan
Puncha Devan was found in a coffee plantation when our team member went around to find where little Tatu came from. Puncha Devan was terrified and ran off immediately when he spotted us, yet it was clear from a brief sighting that his eye was badly damaged. It took weeks of looking for him and leaving food behind, until one day he finally came close enough to be touched and held. He immediately let down his guard and transformed into a friendly puppy. Upon examination, we identified the severe trauma to his right eye which will need months of continuous treatment to hopefully regain his full vision.
We found out that his mother was killed and, knowing how he went through physical abuse himself, it’s a small miracle how this scared little creature became the joyful and affectionate puppy he naturally is. Now little Puncha Devan needs a Guardian Angel to support his eye treatment and help him thrive. Will you be the one to give him the care he deserves?
Bubu
Little Bubu, an abandoned pup, was viciously attacked by a big local dog, tumbled 20 meters down a slope and ended up in a watery ditch. The neighbours called us immediately, and when we took Bubu out of the ditch, it was immediately clear: she was totally paralysed from behind.
We cleaned her wounds and got her x-ray taken at a hospital 1.5 hours away, while she slowly started to see we were not there to hurt her. The poor thing had several spinal fractures, was covered in ticks and fleas and was likely never fed or touched by a human being before.
Little Bubu may never walk again without support, so she can use all the support she can get. Become her Guardian Angel today and help this deserving little being to a life of dignity and care.
Jibbu
An urgent call came from the local Panchayat: a dog, struck by a motorcycle the night before, had been crawling in agony all day, dragging her left leg behind. Villagers offered food and water, but didn’t know what to do. We found her hidden amongst some logs, terrified and crying out, her pain making her lash out.
Carefully, we muzzled her, placed her on a board, and lifted her into the car. Two hours later, at the only 24/7 clinic, x-rays revealed a severe spinal fracture. Time was critical. Surgery was her only chance, but it meant an eight-hour drive to Bangalore.
So Jibbu, this little village dog, embarked on a slow and careful journey to the big city, leaving behind her world of banana trees and winding mountain roads. Who could have imagined all that she would see? Jibbu's road to recovery will be long and challenging after the deep spinal surgery she underwent. Be her Guardian Angel and help Jibbu take her first steps towards a new life.
Tamu
Tamu, a dog roaming the streets of a nearby village, was struck by a rickshaw and left on the road in the centre of the village for hours. We found him bleeding, dehydrated, and with a fractured leg and spine. He was taken for X-rays and blood tests, and it soon became evident that no local clinic could help him.
We eventually found ourselves all the way in Bangalore, where Tamu received treatment for his wounds, fractures, and tick fever. Despite everyone’s best efforts, he is still not out of trouble. Due to his severe fractures, he remains in constant pain, having only one healthy limb, and whenever he hears dogs outside on the streets, he howls in agony, longing to be free.
Knowing that his recovery will be long and arduous, our team has stood by Tamu’s side 24/7, offering support, hand-feeding, and bandaging him.
Tamu deserves a second chance, a life free from pain and neglect. Become his Guardian Angel, and support him on his challenging journey to recovery.
Jimmy & Julie
People in our area often resort to abandoning unwanted puppies and kittens in places where they hope the animals will be found and cared for.
Jimmy & Julie were abandoned at a local school, where the compassionate kids did all they could to care for them. But the 4-week-olds needed a proper home and medical attention. With a lot of care and love, these kittens have blossomed into cuddly, playful, energetic little cats.
Jimmy & Julie’s loving new caretakers need help looking after them. Become their guardian angel to contribute.
Despite being off the streets, Jimmy & Julie need your support in taking their first little steps in their big world, to keep them healthy, strong, and looked after. Will you be their Guardian Angel?
Tatu
Little Tatu appeared at the gate of one of our team members in the dark of the night. When we found her, the puppy was shivering, wet with morning dew and her tail seemed paralysed. Had she been beaten?
Despite the initial aversion and hostility of some of the big dogs living on the other side of the fence, she kept insisting on entering the compound. Hungry, dirty and covered with fleas and ticks, she was pawing the gate and humbly requesting refuge.
Because of her condition, she needed initial treatment, after which she could join her new family. While she’s slowly gaining strength, she is happily integrating and is now welcomed by the other dogs.
She is a curious little pup, taking all the benefits of having healthy adult dogs around her. She spends her days playfully exploring her surroundings, all the while learning from her elder four-legged companions, who are there to support her in discovering all the different aspects of living a wholesome puppy life.
Change a life forever: Become Tatu’s Guardian Angel today.
Changu
Changu was abandoned on a nearby road. The malnourished black labrador had a strange wobble when he walked and had likely been confined to a narrow cage before being dumped by his owners, which is sadly all too common here.
We found him with his ribs sticking out and desperate for something to eat, yet somehow still with that goofy, good-natured labrador spirit shining through. With visible strain, he stumbled up the stairs to the terrace and quickly made himself at home, constantly on the lookout for food.
He’s still shaky on his legs and getting used to living with people who treat him kindly, but one look in his dark brown eyes shows he’s at ease; Changu found a place to stay and got a second chance at life.
Changu is waiting for a Guardian Angel to support his steady steps into a new life. Will you take him under your wings?
Bemu
Bemu was found with a group of dogs and puppies near a chai shop, where his loving personality won the hearts of the nearby families and shop owners. With floppy ears, puppy-dog eyes, and a gentle demeanour, his charm was irresistible, but he had trouble keeping up with the other pups…
Bemu had been severely injured in a car accident, which left him with a fractured femur. He also has tick fever—a potentially fatal disease transmitted by a tick bite.
He is now gaining a little strength and energy each day, and his irresistible personality shines through more and more.
Become Bemu’s Guardian Angel today and support him on his road to recovery.
