Mon came to us a month ago, happily following one of us home during a walk. Although he was wearing a collar, we couldn’t find any trace of his owner, and none of the locals recognised him. He was malnourished and hungry – clear indicators that he was abandoned. He sat outside the gate and didn’t budge until he was allowed inside, as if he knew he was meant to be here and would wait patiently until these humans complied. From the moment we welcomed him in, Mon showed his sweet nature – gentle with the other dogs, friendly with the cats, and happy to have found his new pack.
